Two young men were arrested by police officers for allegedly selling counterfeit loaves of bread.
Speaking to the press earlier today, James Linguli the area OCS said that the two young men were caught while distributing the bread to the retailers.
"The loaves that they were distributing did not have the Kenya Bureau of Standard mark on them. From our investigations, we found out that the young men usually sell the bread at a very cheap price to the unsuspecting retailers who usually flock to buy them and who later sell at Sh30. Many people buy the bread because of the cheap price," the OCS said.
Linguli went ahead and urged the local residents to be very careful when buying goods and to always ensure that the goods they bought had the Kenya Bureau of Standards logo on them.
"We are asking the general public to assist us by reporting any person who sells goods that do not have the Kenya Bureau of Standards mark on them. The two young men that we have arrested are currently helping the police with the investigations and we shall arraign them in court once we are through with the investigation," Linguli added.
