Two young men were found dead on Wednesday morning at ‘Njira ya Gichagi’ in Kamirithu Village, Limuru Constituency.
The two had strangulation marks around their necks, a sign the police officers said showed they were strangled.
Limuru OCPD Michael Mbaluku said, “The deceased have strangulation marks around their necks but we will carry on further investigations to give a conclusive report about the killings. This is also a secondary crime scene as it seems they were killed elsewhere and dumped here.”
Mbaluku said the bodies of the deceased were taken to the City mortuary for a post-mortem procedure in line with police investigations.
Area cleric Gerishon Njoroge urged the locals to know their neighbours in efforts to curb crime.
“We must guard our neighbourhoods jealously by being our brother’s keeper and see that the trend of kilings, muggings and other forms of crime does not return in the area,” said Njoroge.
Area resident Eric Wamanji said, "It is sad for the country to lose such young people who had a long life before them. We hope the police will get to the bottom of the cause of their deaths."
One of those murdered was identified by the locals, but the other was not.
Only a month ago, there was a series of killings in the area, a scenario that attracted anger from the residents who even blocked the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in protest.
Residents decried increased insecurity in the constituency as a whole, asking for increased police patrols and more emphasis on community policing to unmask criminals living there.
