A two-month old baby was on Thursday burnt  beyond recognition when their temporary structure caught fire from burning charcoal at Racecourse estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town.

According to the father of the deceased Ibraham Ameya, a casual woker, the fire spread from the burning charcoal that had been put under the bed.

Ameya told the press that the boy's mother, Lilian Naliaka, had brought some charcoal from the field  where he had been contracted to burn the  charcoal and kept it under the bed unaware that some of it was still burning.

"I recently burnt the charcoal for a client and my wife took some of them and put under the bed but little did she know that it still was still burning," he said.

Police had hectic time controlling curious onlookers who had jammed the place to witness the incident.

The couple that has five children is now requesting for help from well-wishers as all that they owned went up in flames.

"All that we owned was in this structure that has now been turned into ashes and we don't know what we will do now. We request for help from any well-wishers," said Mr. Ameya.
