Police in Isiolo have arrested two men suspected for selling donkey meat.

The two suspects were found with two donkey carcasses.

According to the police, the suspects were found slaughtering two donkeys in their compound.

The villagers reported to the police after they discovered that the suspects had about 30 donkeys locked up.

A community health worker Florence Kaujuri said the uninspected meat could have been distributed to butcheries in Isiolo town.

According to the area assistant chief Daniel Kathunkumi, the suspects admitted that they were transporting donkeys to Nakuru town.

The chief also said the suspects claimed that the slaughtered donkey was ailing and hence they had to slaughter it to get the hide.
