Two people have been confirmed dead, with two children sustaining serious injuries after a fire incident that happened in Gekonge sub location, Bokeira location in Nyamira County on Saturday night.
Confirming the incident, the the sub location chief Hezron Ongaro said Geoffrey Ochoki and his wife; Jemima Nyamisa were attacked by unknown robbers who shot Ochoki, before setting them ablaze together with their children.
"On Saturday night, robbers attacked Kamande's family and shot him twice, they forced his family into one room (master bedroom) and set them on fire," said the chief.
Kamande and wife dead while on the way to hospital, and the two children are at Kisii Referral and Teaching hospital where they are getting medication.
The location now wants the government to ensure security is maintained, and prosecute all those found culpable of such crimes.
The area chief promised to continue with investigations, and was optimistic that they will bring them to book.
The deceased's bodies are lying at Hema mortuary in Kisii County.
