Two people died on spot while at least ten others suffered major injuries following early morning road carnage along Kisii-Sotik highway.
The accident comes barely three days after four other people died, not far from the scene, apparently in a road under surveillance of NTSA officers.
Eye witnesses say the Toyota Probox lost control and veered off the road near Kijauri Trading Center, in the infamous risonsune black spot.
“The driver lost control and veered off the road. Several pedestrians were hit but only two occupants of the ill-fated probox died,” said George Momanyi.
Those injured were rushed to Nyansiongo District Hospital for immediate treatment and all were pronounced ‘critical but yet stable’ by Dr. Atuti Ong’aro.
Nyansiongo ward administrator Emily Migiro confirmed the incident adding that drivers should be cautious when approaching the black spot.
“We have lost many people on the same scene and our drivers should learn from the past. We cannot continue losing people out of carelessness,” she said.
