[Photo/The Star]Two petitions have been filed at the supreme court challenging the victory of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the October 26 repeat polls. The first petition was filed by former Kilome MP Harun Mwau who challenged IEBC for holding the elections in contravention of the law.Mwau alleges that the electoral commission violated the law by failing to conduct fresh nominations as required. He says the agency violated Article 82(1)(b) and 2 (a, b) of the constitution by not complying with the mandatory requirement for nominations. The second organisation that has visited the apex court with petition papers on Monday evening is Mombasa-based NGO Muhuri.Several other organisations have hinted on moving to the supreme court.
