[Photo/citizentv.co.ke]Two police officer are fighting for their lives in hospital after sustaining serious injuries during the anti-IEBC demos in Homa Bay on Wednesday.One officer is reported to have been rushed to hospital after the protesters allied to the National Super Alliance (Nasa) attacked him.The demonstrators are said to have found the officer hiding at a timber yard after they were dispersed. His colleagues had retreated back to the station.The Star reports the police sustained cuts to his head after the protesters hit him with blunt objects and injured him on the head.He was also injured on other parts of his body.The police lost his gun during the scuffle but it was later recovered.Another officer in the county was also reported to have been injured by the Nasa supporters earlier on Wednesday.The protesters accused the officer of setting a blaze a vehicle spare parts shop along Garage road.The shop went down on fire after teargas which was hurled to flush out protesters who had taken refuge there exploded.The police was taken to hospital by his colleagues.County police commander Marius Tum said the culpable protesters will be brought to book.
