A team of detectives arrested two police officers on Monday over the killing of a young man, 27, who was shot dead in a hospital bed in Mwingi on Thursday morning.
The team that was sent to investigate the killing of Fredrick Musyimi at Mwingi Level Four Hospital arrested the two officers who are attached to the DCI office in Kitui.
Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet confirmed the arresting of the duo.
“They were arrested and the probe is ongoing. The two will take plea for the murder of the young man in Mwingi,” said Boinnet.
Officers carrying the investigation said they intend to arrest more culprits.
“There seem to be more players in this thing and we expect to arrest even the driver who was with them,” an officer said.
