Hulugho sub-county commissioner Mr Siele Kipyegon who confirmed the accident said three other officers who were also travelling in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
Mr Kipyegon said that the vehicle, a Land Cruiser was ferrying 11 officers when the accident occurred.

Six of the officers sustained minor injuries and they were treated and later on discharged, said the sub-county commissioner.
“The two police officers died instantly while the injured were rushed to Garissa county Hospital to receive treatment,” said Mr Kipyegon.
The sub-county commissioner called on motorists to take caution while driving or riding reminding them that carelessness and speeding has been the major cause of most accidents.
The accident comes barely a week after five policemen based at Bothai police station were killed by Al-Shabab militia men.
Two officers survived the ambush by the suspected Al-Shabaab gunmen after their vehicle ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
