A source privy to opposition leader Raila Odinga’s itinerary says the veteran leader met one regional president and a vice President to discuss Kenyan crisis ahead of Tuesday’s inauguration of Uhuru Kenyatta.
Barely a day after landing from the US, Odinga flew to Zanzibar hours before Supreme Court upheld Uhuru’s victory.
“The meetings were successful and I can attest that he met John Magufuli and South Africa’s Deputy President Cecil Ramaphosa,” said the source, who sorts anonymity.
The source further said: “This is just but the beginning of political onslaught on Jubilee administration. Raila is keen to restore constitutionalism.”
Legally, Odinga has few options left with the latest court order barring NASA from constitution People’s Assembly hitting the opposition hard.
Traditionally, the two leaders are close allies of Odinga and have partnered in a number of areas including in leadership positions.
Details of his tour to Tanzania however, remain scanty as opposition releases an order of events which they will participate until Tuesday.
