It has now emerged that NASA MPs failed to vote for CEO Norman Magaya in the race to East Africa Legislative Assembly. (EALA)
According to the MPs, Magaya’s loss was attributed to the way he handles politics and his membership in NASA.
The legislators stated that Magaya’s failure is due to his forceful way of conducting politics and coalition affairs.
NASA MPs who spoke to Nation attributed his failure to the fact that he joined the coalition recently and therefore, termed him as an outsider in the party.
Jubilee MPs, led by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, linked his failure to the lack of unity in NASA and the failure to campaign for his candidature.
“For this reason, Jubilee did not take him seriously,” said Nyoro.
The Jubilee MPs also noted that they preferred Raila Odinga’s elder brother, Oburu Odinga, than the young lawyer who has been the face of NASA’s rebellion against President Kenyatta.
Kalonzo Musyoka’s son, Kennedy and former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua were elected to represent Kenya in the East African Assembly. Former lawmakers Mpuri Aburi (Tigania East ), Fatuma Ibrahim (Wajir), Aden Abdikadir (Balambala), Adan Nooru (Mandera North), Wanjiku Muhia (Nyandarua) and Florence Jematiah Sergon were also elected.
