A boda boda operator and his passenger were on Tuesday evening badly injured in an accident in Kwa Makaa area along Thika-Matuu highway.
Speaking to Kioko Musau a witness who works in a nearby petrol station, he narrated that a matatu driver hit the motorcycle while overtaking.
"The vehicle hit the boda boda and it was very bad as the driver and his passenger were severely injured but good samaritans rushed them quickly to Matuu level 4 hospital," said Musau.
However, the matatu driver together with his conductor ran away from the scene leaving the vehicle behind after the unfortunate incidents.
The Kithimani boda boda operators have called upon the police to ensure respect of laws in protection of all road users.
"As motorists we are not respected on the roads though we have paid insurance just like the rest. We are hustling but the vehicle operators are not respecting us on the roads," said Kikuvi.
The Kithimani police officers have launched a hunt for the driver of the matatu that caused the accident while the vehicle has been taken to Kithinani police station.
