Two workers died after a culvert along the SGR line collapsed in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha on Monday.
Four other were injured after they were buried in the culvert.
According to the Star, the said section was weak following rains in the area over the past week.One of the worker who spoke to the Star, said they heard a loud bang which was followed by screams as the section caved in and buried the workers.
He disclosed that they were six but managed to retrieve four who were rushed to hospital but the other two had died.The worker said that the victims did not have helmets or protective gear though the contractor provides safety gears.Area OCS Ezra Sambu confirmed the incident.
He added that the injured workers were transfered to Kijabe Mission Hospital.He said they are investigating the incident to establish if there was negligence.
