A boy and his younger sister are receiving treatment in Embu District Hospital after sustaining severe injuries in a bicycle accident.
The accident happened on Monday evening in Vondoni location in Masinga constituency as the two were on their way home after buying groceries.
Confirming the incident yesterday evening, Masinga police boss Joel Chebii Kiptum stated that the boy had been severely injured on the face and had several fractures while the younger sister sustained injuries on the face and scratches on her body from the tarmac road.
“The accident has happened on the Vondoni- Kithoni tarmac road as the young boy was riding the bicycle very fast when he lost control of it and unfortunately led to the bad accident,” said Kiptum
The police boss further confirmed the two were rushed to Kivaa hospital for first aid treatments and later transferred to Embu District Hospital Casualty department for further treatment.
“Police officers from Masinga station rushed the two children to Kivaa hospital where they received first aid to reduce the bleeding injuries and were later transferred to Embu hospital for more treatment,” said Kiptum.
The boy has been identified as a form one student in Kithoni Secondary School in Kivaa Masinga Constituency. He is fifteen years old and his sister is five.
