Addressing the press on Thursday, Kenyenya district education officer Anthony Barasa said the two students have been arrested for allegedly burning the school dormitory on Wednesday as the investigation commence.

Barasa said 258 school students were affected since they lost everything that was in their dormitory after it was burnt.

“The school has been closed because they can’t continue since many of the students have lost their beddings and others properties,” said Barasa.

“We have arrested two students and the investigation has commenced over the arson but students have been sent home indefinitely until the school board of management takes a decision over the same,” he added.

Kerongorori school headteacher appealed to well-wishers to give their assistance to the students so that they can resume normal studies.
