Police on Wednesday morning shot dead two suspected gangsters at Kiboro, along Juja Road, Nairobi.
Confirming the 4.30 am incident, Starehe CID boss Kiberenge Seroney, said police were forced to fire at the suspects after they declined to surrender.
The CID boss said the officers recovered a pistol with 10 bullets.
In a separate incident in Ruaraka, a suspect was killed by an angry mob after he attacked and injured a GSU officer.
According to The Star, the officer is said to have been walking home when two men attacked him with the intention of stealing his mobile phone.
The officer was stubbed in the stomach before members of the public came to his rescue, killing one of the suspects. His accomplice however, managed to escape.
The officer was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
