Police on Wednesday morning recovered stolen livestock at Nyachenge area as two middle-aged men were arrested for being linked to the crime.
Confirming the incident Nyamarambe police boss Edward Kaikai said that the owner of the animals had reported the loss at around 11 Pm on Tuesday night and the police from his station started a search immediately.
“I was able to communicate with the police and local administration in the surrounding areas who helped us to ensure that the thieves would not get away with the animals,” he added.
KaiKai said that Nyachenge locals informed the area chief of the suspicious characters and then the chief in cooperation with the police arrested them.
“We are currently waiting for the owner of the animals to identify them and the two suspects are currently being held at Nyamarambe police station as investigations resume,” he added.
He called upon the residents to be vigilant in the early days of the year as most of the locals are broke and can be tempted to steal from one another.
