Two attacks were foiled while thirty three suspected Al-Shabaab militants have been nabbed between December and March in Tana River County.
In the first attempt in December last year, Deputy County Commissioner Michael Kioni says twenty suspected militants were ambushed and nabbed while on their way to Hola town with their focus being Jamhuri Day celebrations.
Both Governor Hussein Dado and County Commissioner Isiah Nakoru of Tana River are believed to be the targets alongside other government officials.
