Two businessmen who denied stealing 26 sacks of coffee valued at Sh650,000 before a Nakuru court will remain in custody until March 18.

Mark Cheruiyot and Micheal Njuguna, who appeared before senior principal magistrate Loice Komingoi are accused of committing the offence on diverse dates between January 16 and 17 at Kinare farm in Nakuru north district.

The court heard that the duo, who are accused of committing the offence jointly with others who are still at large, used a blunt object to gain entry into the building of Obadiah Kimani before proceeding to steal.

The magistrate scheduled mention of the case for March 18.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old Tanzanian teenager appeared before the same court charged with unlawfully residing in Kenya.

The court heard that the boy was found living in Nakuru town without a valid entry permit or a passport.

The court ordered that the minor be taken for an age assessment test at the Nakuru general hospital before appearing before a children’s court on March 18.

He was escorted to the Nakuru central juvenile remand centre.
