It seems the political war between Rift Valley sons Gideon Moi and William Ruto is far from ending.
The two met for the first time in public during the burial of the late Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim at Mochongoi as their rivalry continued to play out.
Coming after a visit by Ruto to Gideon's father at Kabarak which left him embarrassed after he was denied to see Mzee Moi, many were eager to see how politics would play out during the burial where both leader were expected.
Gideon, either through default or design, pulled two stunts that were obviously meant to sent a coded language to DP Ruto.
To start, it is DP Ruto who 'received' Gideon at the burial. Gideon stayed late for the burial and arrived when everyone had sat down including the Deputy President.
The unwritten rule for such a function is for other leaders to arrive before the Deputy President and the President if the two are expected to show up.
But the Baringo senator defied this rule and came late and headed straight to the podium where the DP stood to shake his hand and 'welcome' him.
As if that was not enough, Gideon spoke after the DP. The reason; to be able to read the retired president's message of condolences.
Ordinarily, the highest ranking leader during such a function is the one scheduled to speak last.
