Mercy Chepngetich and Mary Nyambura were arrested in Molo town and arraigned in court for allegedly engaging in prostitution.

Appearing before Molo senior principal magistrate Heston Nyaga on Friday, the two denied the charges, saying it was a fabrication by the police to tarnish their names.

They told the court that they had never engaged in commercial sex work and were being accused falsely.

The court asked the prosecution to provide more witnesses and evidence linking the two to the illegal business.

The court released the suspects on a Sh50,000 bond each pending the hearing of the case.

The court ruled that the case be heard on December 3 this year.
