A funeral service turned chaotic yesterday at montage village Kiongongi sub location in Kisii County as two women exchanged bitter words before the mourners, as they claimed to be the wives of the dead man.
The two ladies Zipporah Mokeira and Jones Nyanduko claimed they both bore children with the late Mr Zachary Onyambu.
The funeral was conducted peacefully from the early morning, but on reaching the point of introduction, the two ladies came to the front, with two kids each, as they introduced themselves to the mourners one by one as the wives of the late Onyambu.
It took hours of trying to calm down the conflicting ladies who traded insults between themselves some that cannot be published, they were almost exchanging blows as the mourners watched in disbelief.
The funeral ended up in a confusion as the two women were ignored by the administration and the clan elders, since the late Onyambu was hailing from Nairobi and the community was not sure whether he was married or not.
The locals were urged to always make the members of their families known by the community elders so as to prevent such an embarrassing incident from occurring again.
