Love is not just love. We can actually divide it into three types based on what people from around Nairobi go through.

First is the first love. This is the first experience the person goes through the intense feeling for another. It may come at 18 but in slum areas like Kibera where the culture is different, children as young as 9 begin the journey into intimate affairs.

Usually this relationship breaks up. It is the toughest situation to cope with in the love life.

Second is the second love.

A person is now careful to avoid the mistakes they made in the first love. Throughout this affair, they keep an image of their first lover at the back of the mind and hope they will not suffer like the first time.

At this stage, the person is perhaps in upper high school or college or sometimes out of college.

The third love comes unexpectedly. From nowhere you start to do things you swore never to do. You can walk from Kibera to Kasarani to go see your loved one. It however does not involve a lot of material spending and is moderate.

This love appeals as the right thing and is stronger with more passion.
