Controversial political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, has said that the 'tyranny of numbers' that carried President Uhuru and DP Ruto to state house is dead, and will certainly not work in 2017.
In an article to one of the local dailies, Mutahi boldly stated that winning the 2017 general election is not yet a certainty for Uhuru and Ruto.
The political analyst, who introduced the tyranny of numbers concept to explain how Jubilee would use their majority numbers in Parliament and Senate to influence key government decisions, has said that the duo of Uhuru and Ruto needs a lot more to carry the day in this year's polls.
He stated that to win a presidential election in Kenya, a candidate needs the support of two major tribes and one small one.
Uhuruto, he said, have two tribes in their back but are yet to get a small one.
"In 2013, Uhuru and Ruto were very popular due to their cases at the ICC. Tyranny of numbers worked because this issue served as an object of aggression," he said.
This time round, they do not have an object of aggression to work with and they have not rallied enough excitement behind their re-election.
Ngunyi continues to state that to get that crucial third tribe, Uhuruto might need to offer the position of Prime Minister to Kalonzo Musyoka, who he says, would not shy away from betraying Raila Odinga.
