The director of digital communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi has revealed circumstances under which lawyer Miguna Miguna managed to produce his Cadanian passport in Dubai.
According to Itumbi, UAE through the Canadian consulate, gave Miguna two options - either produce his Canadian passport or risk being jailed for traveling without documents.
Through his Twitter account, Itumbi further stated that UAE will investigate Miguna on how he managed to get his passport after failing to produce it in Nairobi.
"UAE authorities will most likely investigate how Miguna got his Canadian Passport back after failing to produce it to the authorities on departure from Kenya and arrival in Dubai," tweeted Itumbi.
He stated that Kenya wil also launch investigations into the matter.
Miguna traveled to Ontario Canada on Sunday evening after being stranded at the Dubai International Airport for about four days.
The outspoken lawyer was deported after refusing to produce his Canadian passport for stamping at JKIA about last week.
