Photo/facebook.com]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has registered 3,782,089 new voters, in the just concluded mass voter registration.
IEBC however failed to reach its target of 6.1 million of the upper target, but managed to register 95 per cent of the lower target of four million voters.
Of the 3,782,089 voters, Uasin Gishu registered 100,346 new voters, becoming county number 10 out of the 47 counties.
The leading county that received more than 100,000 new applicants was Nairobi which recorded 461,346 voters followed by Kiambu (222,995) then Nakuru (175,756).
In the fourth position was Meru (169,803), fifth, Mombasa (141,686), sixth, Kilifi (123,866), seventh, Machakos (114,320), eighth, Kakamega (114,126), while Muran’ga came ninth with 100,346 new voters.
IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati released the 35-day mass voter registration results in Nairobi, Tuesday.
According to statics, of the 2013 general election, registered voters in Uasin Gishu County were 330,618.
