The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu on Thursday adjourned its sittings to allow members go for a short recess.
Assembly's majority whip David Sing'oei moved the motion arguing it would allow members join their families and friends for the Easter Holiday.
The Ng'enyilel MCA said the short recess would provide an opportunity of the ward reps to meet the electorate at the grassroots.
"Since January we have been busy executing our legislative mandate and its now time we went back to meet the people and see what issues they need addressed since we also have a representation role to play," Sing'oei said.
The motion which received overwhelming support from other MCA's present was seconded by the deputy majority whip Gilbert Tenai.
"This Honorable house has passed a motion to adjourn its sittings with regard to standing order No.25(3) and its adopted calendar starting 30th March 2018 to 9th April 2018 for short recess as indicated in The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu calendar," read a short post on the Assembly's official Facebook page.
The MCA's will resume sittings on April 10, 2018 at 2.30PM.
