Uasin Gishu County bagged 13 trophies as the 2017 Kicosca/Casa Games came to a close on Sunday in Machakos county.

Apart from retaining the athletics title, 'the champions', as they are popularly known, also won the men's and women's volleyball titles.

The sterling performance, particularly in athletics and volleyball, means a number of Uasin Gishu team members will represent the country in the East African Local Authorities (EALA) games in Kampala, Uganda.

Overall, Uasin Gishu finished sixth behind Nairobi who topped in both Kicosca and Casa listing.Nakuru and Kisumu counties were second and third respectively in Kicosca while Kisumu and Kericho tied on Casa position two.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Kicosca chairman Samson Chongwony, disclosed that the team that will represent the country in EALA Games will be announced soon.

Changwony also noted that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua will be the head of the delegation to Uganda.

"Delegates planning the Uganda outing will be meeting in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu to actualize the required processes before the team leaves for Uganda," he added.EALA games are scheduled to begin on December 10th to 16th in Uganda's capital, Kampala.
