County director of Alcoholic Drinks Control Board, Armstrong Rono, gave the operators seven days to ensure they adhere to all set rules on their operations.

The director said that some restaurants, bars and discos in the area are operating without proper licenses.

“All bars, restaurants and entertainment joint owners must make sure that they follow the law,” said Rono.

At the same time he warned discos and strip clubs that are allegedly accommodating teenagers.

“It is against the law for teenagers to access such facilities. We will take action against the owners who allow minors to access clubs,” said Rono.

Rono said he has received complaints from the public that teenagers are freely accessing strip clubs especially in Eldoret town.

At the same time, the director announced plans that the county will soon conduct an inspection on all entertainment joints in the county with the aiming of weeding out rogue operators.
