The new set of newly appointed Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee members (CEC’s) on Friday began their new jobs after taking the oath of office at the County Headquarters in Eldoret town.Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa administered the oath to the 10 CeC's together with County Attorney Stephen Lel in presence of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.Speaking during the event, governor Mandago challenged the new CeC's to work together with other county and national government staff to ensure quality service delivery to mwananchi."We all have a common role in ensuring that we offer quality services to the people and this can only be achieved if you work as a team," Mandago told the new county executives.Since their approval by the County Assembly last month, the CeCs have gone through rigorous induction and introduction to existing and ongoing projects in all the six sub Counties. CeCs who were sworn in are Julius Rutto (Finance and Planning), Esther Mutai (Enterprise Development), Joseph Lagat (Education, Youth, Sports and Social service), University Don Dr. Emily Kogos (ICT, E-Government, Trade and Tourism), Eveline Rotich (Health), Samwel Yego (Agriculture), Barnabas Tarus (Devolution).Others are Mary Njogu (Water and Environment) and Eng. Gideon Birir (Roads and Energy) who retained their dockets as well as Eng. Nelson Maritim (Lands) who was promoted from Chief officer in the same department.
