Likuyani Location Chief, Charles Banda has told leaders and government officials to lead by example and stop misleading people.
In his statement, Banda says that one cannot lead; legislate and execute on matters that they do not have faith in.
Banda was speaking in relation to his actions where he withdrew his two children from a private academy to go and study in a young school that is mud-walled.
With the help of her senior assistant chief of Seregeya Sub-Location Diana Owano, Chief Banda put up strategies to open up a school which was named after him.
The school was then put up in early 2013 with only handful pupils. However, the chief says that he received complaints from other parents about why he started a public school yet his children learnt in a nearby private school.
"The complaints were too many and that is why I withdrew them from the private school to the public school," he says.
His efforts and urge for development saw him being awarded a certificate of Recognition from Phanicey Charitable Foundation from the Foundation's CEO, Bright Chadiva.
It is when Banda seized the opportunity to tell Kenyan leaders that they should lead by example and not being hypocrites.
"Let us implement things for everyone, not only for some other people yet we stay out of that implemented thing," he said adding that leaders who take their children to study abroad are missing the point.
