Briefing journalists on the status of security in Uasin Gishu on Thursday, Mohammed said that investigations into the whereabouts of the missing youths show that they may have crossed to Somalia and other countries linked to terror activities.

This has become the trend in most counties in the country and that is why the county government has become vigilant.

Mohammed said that parents and guardians of the twenty youths have been probed and recorded statements with security agencies.

“We are still probing on the whereabouts of 22 youths who have been missing for close to two years,” said the commissioner.

He urged Uasin Gishu residents to report relatives who have been missing for the police to launch probe.

He said the law enforcers will not tolerate criminals adding that appropriate measures have been put in place.

“Uasin Gishu County is safe and we want residents and investors to feel free and continue with their work,” said Mohammed.

He said that security has been intensified in all business premises, schools and churches.

The Uasin Gishu commissioner urged the public to befriend law enforcers and help them curb crime.
