The county government of Uasin Gishu has revealed plans to establish a Sh100 million market in Munyaka, Ainabkoi sub-county.

According to governor Jackson Mandago, they have already secured funding for the project from the European Union (EU).

Speaking during a visit to the area during a vote-hunting mission, Mandago said construction works for the project are expected to begin soon.

"This will be most likely Kenya's biggest and modern market," the governor noted.

"The contractor has already been awarded the tender and anytime construction will begin," he added.

The Market will be built on a 6-acre piece of Public land at the Munyaka trading centre.

Mandago also said his administration plans to construct another market at Kapsoya grounds with construction expected to begin before the end of this year.
