Uasin Gishu county government is set up a recreational park in Eldoret town. The park that will be set up in Eldoret town is set to be the only park in Eldoret for rest and recreation around the town.
Speaking in Eldoret on Thursday, Uasin Gishu county governor, Jackson Mandago said that the park would help residents of Eldoret and those coming to the town for their businesses to rest when they get tired.
“The park will help people who get tired during their daily chores in getting to rest before they continue with their chores. It will also serve as a recreational centre for Eldoret town,” said Mandago.
The park is to be set up along Sosiani River all the way to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital to Nairobi road.
“We will clean Sosiani River first; demolish buildings along the river as per the NEMA regulations before continuing to set up the park." added Mandago.
Currently, Eldoret town has no recreational park. The county government is in the process of renovating Nandi Park in Eldoret town to serve as a recreational park in the county.
