Uasin Gishu deputy governor Daniel Chemno was on Tuesday heckled by locals during a tree planting exercise at Sabor primary school in Moiben sub-county.

Trouble began when Chemno tried to defend the County government's development record under the leadership of governor Jackson Mandago.

The hostile crowd also booed and heckled him, as he advocated for the six-piece voting pattern.

"This is a Jubilee zone and we need to support individuals who won party tickets including governor Mandago who has done well in putting in place development projects meant to improve livelihoods," said Chemno amid jeers from the locals.

This happened in presence of the independent gubernatorial candidate Zedekiah Bundotich better known as Buzeki who had earlier rooted for the election of leaders based on their ability to initiate projects that can impact positively on the locals.

"You need to vote for leaders who can deliver not just because they are in a certain party or are from your tribe," Buzeki told the residents.
