Uasin Gishu County created their legacy after closing in second position among twenty Counties that participated in the 91st Edition of the Kenya National Music Festivals held in Kakamega County.

The event came to an end on Thursday with teams from different Counties taking home fifteen trophies in total.

Sisto team won the highest mark of 92% in the festival and took trophies for the best folk song and best in class 703X. 

Kalya team was honored for having most presentations and won trophies for performing Marakwet and Pokot traditional songs.

Moi University team came out as the best university and the best in class 500A. 

Education for Life team was lauded for performing best in Kuria and Kisii songs while Nandi Cultural Team was chosen as the best male team to perform a cultural song.

“University of Eldoret (UOE) has been awarded trophies for emerging best in Zilizopendwa category and best team with female voices. This is a direct confirmation that being known as Uasin Gishu County, The Champions, is indeed a brand to reckon with,” said Eunice Kerich of Youths and Sports Department after the closing ceremony in Kakamega.

Kakamega County emerged first in the competitions.
