Farmers in Uasin Gishu county have reaffirmed their support for Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren who is fighting Jubilee party's attempt to remove him from the Agriculture Committee where he was elected as the chair. The farmers who spoke in Eldoret on Friday accused National Assembly leader of majority Adan Duale of seeking to replace Tiren with an MP from his North Eastern region. They said Tiren, being a farmer is best suited to head the Agriculture Committee."Duale should keep off the Agriculture Committee and allow Tiren to execute the mandate other members gave him," said one of the farmers who identified himself as Kiprono."What has an MP from North Eastern has to do with heading the Agriculture committee, we want Tiren to remain the chair because he has been a farmer, he knows the challenges we face and furthermore he is always fighting for our interests," added Albert Kosgey, a farmer from Kapseret sub-county.Tiren is accused of defying party position after he was elected Agriculture committee chairman, defeating Adan Ali of Mandera East who was said to be Jubilee’s preferred candidate. He is facing removal from the committee together with three other MPs, Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills who was elected chair of Labor and Social Welfare committee, Bowen Kangogo (Marakwet East) and James Gakuya as well as Alex Kosgey (Emgwen). Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
