Farmers in Uasin Gishu county have asked the Jubilee party to allow Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren to remain the chair of the National Assembly Agriculture Committee.Speaking in Eldoret on Thursday, the farmers said Tiren is best placed to head the committee as he understands plights of farmers."Tiren is a farmer like us. He understands what we always have to go through from the planting to harvesting season hence he should be allowed to head that committee," said Henry Moshin, a farmer from Soy sub-county.The farmers further claimed removal of Tiren and three other Jubilee MPs from the North Rift region was a witch hunt. They, however, welcomed a court decision that temporarily suspended the removal of the four MPs from their various committees. The four, Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Silas Tiren (Moiben), Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East) and James Gakuya (Embakasi North) filed a case at the High Court challenging the decision by Jubilee party to remove them from the committees after they were elected chairs against party's leadership preferred candidates. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
