Addressing journalists in the County headquarters, Mandago said the county government had collected revenue to the tune of Sh800M by the end of the third quarter of the financial year.

“This has been possible because county residents can see the impact their taxes have done, and that is why there has been no difficulty in revenue collection,” said Mandago.

He associated the result to the concerted efforts between the county staff and the business people willing to contribute.

“Some companies have been evasive in the previous years and have managed to dodge the county a lot of money,” he added.

The county government of Uasin Gishu is targeting revenue collection to 1Bn in the next financial year.
