In collaboration with Kenya Technical Training Institute (KTTI), the government announced it had completed the two day interview for students who will be sponsored to undertake Diploma studies in Technical Teacher Education at the institution beginning May this year.

She said the interview process was majorly testing the candidates on suitability to teach in technical and vocational colleges.
“We received many applicants but we shortlisted 117 based on the qualifications they had, we shall sponsor 100 of the interviewed candidates," Kerich said.
Kerich said the interviewing panel consisted of representatives from Kenya Technical Training College, officials from youth department, Sub County and some ward administrators.
“The college will take all the forms and score sheets from the interviewed candidates for sorting and subsequently issue calling letters to successful candidates," Kerich said.
On their part, officials from the college commended the county for coming up with idea saying it was timely.
“I wish to commend the County Government of Uasin Gishu for this noble idea," said one of the college officials.
They added that according to their medium term program, the college was set to open three campuses with one located in Ainabkoi Sub County.
A move that was welcomed by Kerich.
“We welcome the idea of you setting up a campus within our jurisdiction, you can begin here as you think of putting the other two elsewhere," posed Kerich.
The tutors from the college said they were impressed by the passion the candidates had in the technical areas.
