The County Government of Uasin Gishu has partnered with a chinese firm in putting up a Ksh. 6 billion modern housing project in Eldoret town.

The County Government yesterday signed a deal with Wiehai International Economic and Technical Corporation of China at Governor's office in Eldoret.

Speaking to the press during the signing of the partnership, Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago said that they have already entered into partnership with the NSSF and also the National Housing Corporation whereby the old county houses will be renovated and also the construction of new houses.

"We have already sit down and formulated the County Housing corporation  and also all the housing policy which will go ahead and guide the housing sector in this sector", Mandago said.

The Governor said that the key estates that are being targeted for the upgrade are Kapsuswo, Macharia,  Mayabi, Tom Mboya, Kidiwa, Saroiyot, Pioneer and also Elgon View.

"The County Government wants to increase houses in Eldoret town and also to ensure all the old County Houses are improved so that they can be modernised. I call upon all the private sectors who may wish to be part of this project to feel freely and join us", Mandago said.

Mandago went ahead and urged all the traders in the county to ensure that they follow the finance act and go ahead and pay the levies as required.

"I urge the people of eldoret and also uasin gishu county at large to stop politising the finance act since it was very vital when it comes to ensuring that all the ongoing projects in the county are finished", Mandago said
