South Sudan’s Pibor State Governor David Yau Yau on Monday paid a courtesy call on Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.
During the meeting, the two discussed how to improve trade between the two counties since Uasin Gishu hosts a lot of Sudanese nationals.
It was also to enhance peace between Kenya and South Sudan.
"In the past, we have been having issues and South Sudan’s politics has been unstable but thanks to the Kenyan Government, we are heading somewhere with peace although it’s is still a long journey. There are a lot of investment opportunities in South Sudan and we would like investors to come in and explore them," said Yau.
Mandago said, "I believe South Sudan has potential of being well developed with a strong economy but the only challenge is peace. Investors are afraid of investing in South Sudan as no investor can accept the risk an unstable nation however promising the business is."
