Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has challenged the National Lands Commission (NLC) and the Ministry of Lands to crack the whip and ensure individuals who have grabbed public utilities face the full force of the law.
Chemno laments that there are many unresolved cases of public land grabbed in the county.
Speaking in Eldoret, Chemno named the grabbing of former Eldoret mayor's house and the land in which the county headquarters are built as the main cases that need to be resolved."Uasin Gishu is the most affected county as it seems all the land grabbing demons have there headquarters here," noted Chemno.
"We need to resolve major land grabbing cases in this town beginning with our very own county headquarters land the the former mayor's house," he added.
The county government had spend Sh8 million to renovate the former mayor's house as it planned to be converted into a media centre only for an individual to move in claiming ownership.
