A group of Uasin Gishu county leaders who lost during Jubilee party primaries are up in arms over a list of those to consider for nomination as Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Members of Parliament and Senate.
The group led by Phillip Chebunet and Abraham Mutwol claim the list that is set to be forwarded to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC) is full of the local leaders cronies and girlfriends.
Addressing the press in Eldoret, the leaders under the umbrella of Jubilee aspirants caucus, demanded that the list be revoked and the process of selecting those to be considered for nomination be done a fresh.
They warned that should their demands fail to be addressed within seven days, they will move to court.
"The proposed list of people to be nominated is full of friends, relatives, girlfriends, lovers and personal assistants of party nominees and officials," claimed Mutwol who unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu Senate seat.
"We want a free and comprehensive process of identifying individuals to be considered for nomination where everybody is involved and if nothing will be done the we will have no option but to move to court to seek redress," added Chebunet.
The group lamented that despite contributing over Sh45 million to the party through payment of nomination fee, they have been ignored and sidelined by those who won party tickets who are now calling the shots.
