The county government of Uasin Gishu on Monday launched medical equipment worth Sh2,096,000.
Speaking during the launch at the Uasin Gishu District Hospital, the CeC for Health Services, Margaret Chepkwony said that the equipment has been bought to serve in outpatient and inpatient services at the health facilities in the county.
“The equipment will be dispatched immediately to the six sub-county hospitals and ensure they are in use immediately,” she said.
The county director of Health, Evans Kiprotich applauded the county for its efforts in ensuring that the county hospitals get all equipment needed to improve service to the people.
“With this equipment, basic theatre operations like complications on delivery and ectopic pregnancies that may require emergency surgery will now be done in the sub-county hospitals,” she added.
Among the items flagged off for dispatch were weighing scales, sterilizing drums, medicine trolley, examination lamps, patient trolleys.
