Uasin Gishu leaders have applauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for retaining Treasury CS Henry Rotich and Charles Keter in the energy docket.
They said the two had done well in their ministries, therefore, needed a second chance.
“I want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for retaining the two Cabinet secretaries from this region. We also want the cabinet secretary for agriculture to come from this region since we are the food basket of the country,” said Moiben Member of parliament who doubles up as the Chairman of Agriculture in the National Assembly Sila Tiren in Eldoret town, Saturday.
“It is good that those who did well have been retained and those who slept on the job have been shown the door, that’s the way to go and we will vet the cabinet secretary nominees whether the opposition likes it or not. I am very happy that the two were retained,” added Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut.
They, however, warned the opposition leaders against calling for his swearing terming it as ill-intended and only meant to divide Kenyans.
“Raila should know that politics are over and should wait until 2022 where he will compete with Deputy President William Ruto who will beat him squarely.For heaven sake we are tired of politics,” said Sila Tiren.
