MCAs from Uasin Gishu have said that they are ready to be probed over the ongoing allegations that they have been earning illegal allowances.
Speaking to the press yesterday in Eldoret town Ramadhan Ali who is the minority leader urged the EACC to immediately send its team to the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu so that it can launch its investigations.
"We want to come out clean and we will do this if EACC starts investigating us. We are more than ready to be investigated. We are wondering where the CRA got the figures from", Ali said.
Ali went ahead and said that all the MCAs are welcoming the probe and they are wondering when it will start."It is very bad for this county to be portrayed in such a bad picture and we want to ensure that we clear our names.
I want to tell the people of Uasin Gishu county that the ongoing allegations are total lie and that the one who came up with such a report did not even question any of the members of the assemblly", Ali said.
Agnes Odhiambo who is the Comptroller of budget had ranked uasin Gishu county as one of the counties that should be probed over the excess earnings by its MCAs and that the allowances were in excess of what the CRA has set.
