Uasin Gishu County Deputy governor Daniel Chemno has asked Police officers in the county to streamline security in the area.

Addressing the press int his office on Wednesday, the Deputy governor alleged that cases of crime have risen in most parts of the county.

Chemno said that Police should intensify security surveillance and deal with criminal elements before things go out of hand.

“Security personnel in Uasin Gishu should map out criminal dens and restore security,” said Chemno adding that the county will work with the Police to tame crime.

He said that proper security measures will be formulated in consultation with the national government that will help weed out crime.

Chemno on the same note asked Uasin Gishu County residents to co-operate with law agencies in fight against crime stressing that such collaboration will be effective in dealing with criminal gangs.

On Tuesday, County AP Commander Augustus Mutia vowed to hunt criminals causing havoc in the area. The commander warned robbers and carjackers saying their days are numbered.
