The academician turned politician acknowledged that she indeed was the late former minister’s wife during a requime mass held in Toot village.

In a rare spectacle, Kamar held hands with her two co-wives; Hannie and Kavista, and went ahead to introduce her children.

During the mass, the family disclosed an unknown side to the once powerful minister during the Moi era, saying he was not what the media and public in general knew.

Biwott was once linked to the death of the former minister Robert Ouko, a case that has never been resoleved since the 1990’s.

For the first time, Biwott’s family, one of his otherwise closely guarded life, was revealed to the public, with his wife Hannie Biwott, leading his children and grandchildren in mourning the man.

He will be laid to rest today, Thursday in his home in a ceremony that is expected to be attended by many dignitaries led by Deputy President William Ruto.
